This week’s food is the fig. I love these delightful little fruits. Served sweet or savory, they are always terrific, fresh or dried.
Fresh, I love to eat them with prosciutto and some mascarpone cheese, on thin bread, crackers or alone on a plate.
Dried ones are also fantastic poached in red wine with spices and kept in Mason jars. Perfect as a compliment to a simple scoop of ice cream, Devon Cream or mascarpone cheese for a fast and elegant dessert. Slightly warmed, these lovelies are a little bit of heaven!
